The Offering

The Practice

We will offer two optional ninety-minute yoga classes a day that are designed to nourish your mind, body, and spirit. With two additional workshops offered throughout the week, you'll have the opportunity to create a practice that suits your unique needs.

We will integrate massage, pranayama, and meditation into each of our practices and will offer modifications and adjustments for all levels of yogi.

The immersive environment of a retreat encourages mindfulness, allowing you to detach from the demands of life and reconnect with yourself. Nosara is a very special place and has an eco-friendly ethos that emphasizes sustainability and a harmonious relationship with nature.  This will be an opportunity to escape and delve into a deeper understanding of yoga, cultivate mindfulness, and forge lasting connections with a very special yoga community.

The Space

Nosara is widely recognized as the yoga capital of Costa Rica— because of its relaxing setting in the rainforest but close proximity to the beautiful coast. Bohdi Tree is a very special resort, whose grounds include a 25-meter saltwater infinity pool, open areas for reading, meditating, or contemplating nature, sun-dappled beaches and gentle surf of the Pacific Ocean within a 10-minute walk. There are lush gardens and waterfalls throughout the property, panoramic jungle views and views of the ocean.

All four yoga shalas at Bodhi were thoughtfully designed to integrate Mother Nature. Each one has 360 degree views and are open air, creating a serene environment for you to connect to your mind and body.

The Facilitators

Michelle Teramatsu

Michelle Teramatsu, an LA native, has been a dedicated yogi since childhood. She hopes to create a safe space for students to truly embody their experience on the mat. She designs her classes in combination with other types of therapeutic & somatic practices. She enjoys bringing in her knowledge of the chakras, multiple styles of yoga, breathwork, mindfulness, and meditation.

Michelle strives to help others connect with not just their physical health, but their mental and emotional health as well. Her belief is the healthier an individual is, the more they can contribute and share their unique gifts with this world.

When not working, she spends her time with her family (husband, two young boys, and dog Pepe) and studies to deepen her understanding of the power of collective healing.

Andrea Jensen

Born and raised in California, Andrea found yoga in her early twenties. For the very first time, she felt movement that helped her manager her stress and anxiety.

Yoga showed her that she didn't always have to be "perfect". It’s not about how good you are at the asanas or how strong your body is. It’s about letting go of thought and linking body, breath, and movement. During your practice, you leave your entire world at the door and step onto your mat with a clean slate.

Andrea completed a 320 hr Ashtanga based training program in 2012 in Goa, India and has never looked back. Since then she has completed additional trainings in asana study, restorative yoga, yoga sculpt, and Thai massage.
